This conductor consists of a solid or stranded steel core surrounded by aluminum wires. ACSR CONDUCTOR is available in a wide range of steels from 6% to 40%.

Higher strength ACSR CONDUCTORS are used for river crossings, earthing cables, installations involving extra long spans, etc. Against any given conductor resistance, ACSR conductor can be manufactured to have a wide range of tensile strength as per requirement. The main advantage of these conductors is their high tensile strength and light weight with less support as well as longer spans. Due to the larger diameter of the ACSR CONDUCTOR, a much higher corona limit can be achieved, which gives great advantages in high and extra high voltage lines.
